Heritage breeds have been around for a long time. It is not surprising to see such words describing these breeds as: hardy, adaptable, thriving, foragers, genetic diversity, and disease resistance. Our livestock and poultry are raised on pasture getting their nutrients from the earth the way it was intended. We do not use any hormones or medicated feed. Free choice minerals are always available, and hay in the winter is offered.
Our breeds can be found on the Conservation Priority List (CPL), and are being monitored to ensure their survival. Their valuable genetic traits have brought them this far and now it is up to all of us to ensure their continued existence.
We are proud members of the Livestock Conservancy supporting their beliefs and philosophy.
